Security Operations Manager - Highcross Shopping Centre

About the Job

Purpose of the Role

Reporting into the Security Manger deliver a hands-on management approach with all aspects of Security and Safety, including Emergency planning and data protection and on the floor team management. Act as a line manager to Security team and department team leaders ensuring staff are managed consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing security knowledge and management support for the centre, driving continuous improvement and ensuring legal compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • To implement policy and safe procedures and to develop and maintain compliance documentation.
  • To review and process all incidents, to conduct investigations and to produce regular incident reporting information.
  • Monitor the safety and security of all property, centre’s customers, employees and their personal property.
  • Reflect best practice and ensure the policies within are routinely reviewed and updated.
  • To liaise with regulatory authorities and professional bodies on data protection, security and emergency planning, compliance and investigatory issues.
  • Ensuring compliance audits are completed, reported and actions closed within an acceptable timescale.
  • Develop and deliver our service models in line with our strategic organisational and centre objectives.
  • Within the business you will ensure exemplary standards customer service always provided to customers
  • To take a proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovation in all aspects of the job
  • To carry out the role of Duty Manager

Principle Accountabilities

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and best practice procedures are achieved at all times.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with all aspects of data protection and Security requirements across the centre.
  • Ensure compliance and develop best practice in crisis and incident management
  • To monitor the control room operations including CCTV, correct logging of incidents and correct use of ANPR
  • To ensure the centre is compliant with current business continuity and disaster recovery requirements
  • To ensure the data protection act regulations are enforced
  • Ensure correct training and knowledge is delivered to the team and takes responsibility for all major incidents in the absence of the Security Manager
  • Centre staff are fully trained in emergency incident management and assessed at regular intervals. Ensure that records are held and updated as required.
  • Attend regular meetings with the management team aligning performance with business objectives, strategic plans, provide KPI status, service delivery and commercial performance.
  • Development of innovation and best practice standards across all operational aspects of service delivery.
  • Deliver the rota ensuring correct manning levels are maintained at all times
  • Maintain staff attendance records in line with company procedures
  • Maintain standards of performance, discipline and welfare for the team in accordance with company policies
  • To provide development and training of staff linking department crossover where possible
  • As Security Duty Manager the successful candidate will manage a large-scale multifunctional team. The role will involve developing and delivering our service model in line with our strategic organizational objectives.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of business continuity planning, management and assessment, event planning and the management of.
  • Experience of Major incident planning, training and management of events incidents.
  • Knowledge and experience of data protection legislation.
  • Security and Safety management skills gained from working within a busy, demanding, pressurised and high-profile customer service environment or similar.
  • A high energy professional capable of influencing at all levels, developing excellent relationship management skills with internal and external partnerships.
  • A flexible individual with an ability to work well with others, make clear decisions and continue to deliver results under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills and an ability to establish credibility quickly.
  • A pragmatic approach and a sense of teamwork.
  • Demonstrate excellent skills in organisational ability, oral and written communication, report, document writing and presentations to senior management teams and to the workforce.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise own and centre specific work to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Financially astute with strong commercial focus applied within a large organisation.
  • Analytical mind who can interpret regulations and legislation.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems.
  • Appropriately qualified to deliver Data protection legislation to managers and staff.
  • SIA DS licensed and a SIA CCTV Licence would be an advantage.

Working Hours - Monday to Friday 08:30-17:30 / 11:00-20:00 when on Duty Manager & Sat & Sun when on Duty Manager.
